Chapter 11

Jess suffered from the same routine damn near every day. Wake, if she slept, feed, and train. Gone were the days where her existence seemed to lack any purpose.

No.

Adalira had taken over her training. She was brutal, leaving no room for error, the impression she left was of a warrior woman. Strong, fierce, and cunning, and not only that. When they sparred, her strength, her speed, and the sheer power she wielded left Jess aching in more than just one way.

Just her presence put Jess to shame. She was everything Jess thought she would and wouldn’t want in a love interest.

If that’s what Adalira wants, her mind goaded her.

Right. If that was what she wanted. It did take two to tango. Jess had easily learned through the books she read that Vampires were very sexual creatures. She had no doubt that Adalira was sexually attracted to her.

Jess thought back, recalling that memory of Adalira’s words. “If I decided to plunge two fingers inside of you, would you welcome me with no hesitation?” Jess shivered, desire pooling low in her stomach. Adalira had taken the life she used to live and gave her a new one. One with more power, sensations, and feelings.

With the good came the bad.

There were some aspects of becoming a Vampire that made life dangerous. It wasn’t uncommon to hear about those who hated Vampires. While the majority of the world was fine with it, there were some humans that were not.

Add in hatred for an entire species, rich, religious fanatics, and a hate group was constructed. With technology that could be potentially fatal to a Vampire.

Especially a fledgling.

The older a Vampire was the stronger they became. Some were blessed with gifts, others, not so much.

Adalira was powerful. Strong. A fighter. Dangerous.

Recalling her memories, she had always moved to date older, more feminine women with a dominant personality. In and out of the bedroom. The desire to give was strong. Finding such a dominant, feminine woman had been fruitless. They were out there, just hard to find.

She had gone on a couple of dates, some ending pleasantly, but it was never enough. Things never worked out the way she had hoped.

Her stay at Adalira’s was already routine. Boring. Adalira was the only thing she had to look forward to. Feeding from her, the small touched, but the pleasure she derived from it wasn’t enough to sate her ever-growing boredom.

She was out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by pretty foliage, but there was never anything to do. She couldn’t leave until she was deemed ready, and not a danger. Jess didn’t feel as if she was dangerous, or a potential danger to anyone. At her best, she felt calm, cool, and collected. At her worst she had a tendency to become quiet, snap, or explode in specific situations, but never would she have thought that she could have been a potential danger.

Things did change in her emotional makeup. She could feel it but couldn’t pinpoint it.
